Astrology really does work... even if you're dead. (0)

Since this is a dating site, a lot of the work I do here is based on helping people make sense of their love lives. Part of that is practical application: getting the timing right. I often say to clients: "any tarot card read can tell you that 'everything happens for a reason,' but it takes an astrologer to tell you that "nothing happens a damned minute before it's supposed to." Having a dream date planned is one thing, but the actual timing of when it occurs will tell you the real story about how it will work out. Astrological transits are always a factor when it comes to how well or how badly things go for you.

Sunday evening saw the Oscars, and the usual Awards Night traditions: the red carpet, the inane questions about who designed your dress, the opening number... and the Roll Call of the Dead, where Hollywood takes a few minutes to pay homage to those who have passed on in the last year.

But... where was Farrah Fawcett? Other than... well, dead, that is? She was surprisingly absent from the traditional Roll Call Of The Dead. And the astrology involved is every bit as applicable as if she had been snubbed while still alive.

Prominence in one's career is determined in large part by the Midheaven, which is the highest part of the Zodiac in the sky at the moment of birth. "Good" transits to the Midheaven support career and recognition, and "bad" transits make getting recognition tougher.

Farrah Fawcett was born February 2, 1947, at 3:10 PM, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her Midheaven was at 26 degrees Pisces. Sunday night when the awards were on, these were Farrah's transits to her Midheaven:

Uranus was conjunct it -- leading to unusual circumstances in the career: specifically, not getting recognition that should likely have otherwise been automatic. Transiting Saturn was (weakly) conjunct her Neptune which is the planet ruling Farrah's Midheaven), making for difficulties and limitations. Pluto was square the Midheaven ruler, which isn't good for business either. And the transiting Moon was square the Midheaven, which would have made for hurt feelings around the career... if Farrah really cares about that sort of thing any more.

So: it's spooky but true. Astrology works... even if you don't.
