Okay Big Daddy, We Get It! (6)

On How to Befriend the Grim Reaper

We all know those shoulda, coulda, wouldas. These are Daddy Saturn messages, ones that usually show up too late, unless we put the gift of this time of year to our advantage. In the depth of winter Saturn represents both the bare bones of any situation, and how well the daily rituals and details of our life have or have not supported us. Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn. Dating and relating are as good as any place for them to show up. Guess which sign Saturn recently moved into (November)? That's right: Libra--relationships.

You may have heard that phrase: Conquer the tiger by becoming the tiger. Now that we are near the end of Saturn's reign, rather than fight Big Daddy Discipline, why not use this time to make friends with the dreaded grim reaper? Saturn's symbol in our lives can help us get a good grip on what works for you and what doesn't. It helps us bring true grit to our relationships, and longevity, if that's what is desired. Get real. When dating, put Saturn to use by identifying the structures, time frame(s), disciplines, and daily disciplines that keep you feeling a sense of well being, personally, as well as when you are dating. Strip down to what has stood the test of time for you in the practical and spiritual dimensions of your life. If these particulars slow you down in your enjoyment of the dating adventure, keep them for yourself. If you are looking for a longer-term relationship, know that Saturn's gifts of awareness are key to building a solid foundation for something lasting. Besides, being true to what works for you can only make you more attractive!

Now that Saturn has gone Retrograde (appears to go backward in its orbit) for the next three months roll up your sleeves and get into the nitty-gritty of little details that build a sense of grounding. It's is a good time to take up yoga, qigong or a fun nutritional cooking class with your mate. What works physically, nutritionally, mentally, and spiritually for you? Write down what has worked for you time and time again, wherever you are, wherever you have lived, whoever you have been with. On one side of the paper write "what has worked". On the other side list "what hasn't". What keeps you feeling sexy? Take action to increase the what works list and to decrease what doesn't one. What I am saying here is general and applicable to everyone and particularly important to those of us with a strong Saturn (i.e., in Scorpio, Capricorn or Taurus).

A new massive ring was recently been discovered around Saturn in October, the time of relationships, and the transformation relating brings. Could this discovery herald the possibility of expanded consciousness in our ways of relating? In any case, taking a little time to come to terms with your working list above will allow you to enjoy the freedom of mind our next sign's planet has to offer.

Next: We'll be visiting wildly unusual Uranus!

For now, what keeps you grounded in dating and relating? How may I assist you with Saturn's gift in your dating and relating?

I heard there that right now there is something called a"Wolf full moon". Do you know about that and does this have any bearing on relationships...being in them or finding one?

Yes, the full moon this weekend is named a Wolf Full Moon in Native American folklore. A friend of mine just sent me this article that describes it:

As far as its bearing on relationships goes: All of astrology is a language for energetic dynamics, probability and interaction. In this light, one can work with the timing and energy of the full moon to illuminate concerns about fulfillment in relationships. This full moon is in Leo so it is highly relevant to romance and issues of the heart since Leo rules the heart and spine. You might find yourself feeling more demonstratively amorous and spontaneously creative under the influence of this moon. Feeling in general, and speaking your heart to your lover/partner can be elevating to your relationship if you are in one. If not, it is a good time to acknowledge all that you know you desire and, equally, all that you have to offer. Happy howling!.

I am a Libra and the moon seems to bring about many different moods from flirtacious to shyness. I am familiar with the American Indian forklore of Wolf Moon and according to my sources not a good moon for Libra Females to howl and have the entire pact responding to her and creating problems with the Alpha Male. What I do not understand is my unchanging attratction to Sagittarians.

  6. Dr. Khaleghl Quinn says:

Ideally, and being a Libra, you know about the ideal world, the full moon provides an opportunity for each of us to feel all that we are capable of feeling. Your attraction to Sagittarians is natural. Fire and Air feed each other, there is chemistry between them. Generally, Sagittarians teach us about expanding out of our comfort zones. For a Libra, a Sagittarian would promote a mission for making life into an ever-progressing work of art. Without knowing more about your birth chart I would venture a guess that your inner Libra may be asking to expand into some adventurous way of being in your unchanging attraction to Sagittarians. I would trust your inner compass on this attraction. Let me know if you have any further questions.
