Get your keyboards ready: this is going to be a week packed with significant messages and sudden twists!
After more than three weeks of going “backwards”, Mercury, the ruler of commerce and conversation is slowing down and turning direct. That’s great news because in general, Mercury will release intellectual tensions and we’ll be able to think more freely and to avoid confusion and misunderstandings in many cases. These couple of days may appear to be a bit slower than usual in the area of communication and information exchange because the planet itself appears to move slowly as well. If you send an email, maybe attachment won’t go through. Possibly, you are going to wait for that phone call. Did you lose an important business card? Small but important bits and pieces and processes that we’ll still have to repeat are waiting to happen. This is very common when Mercury is so sluggish. Luckily, it only lasts for a day or two and by Friday we’ll be clear on some important issues and choices to make.
Many people stick with Mercury retrograde calendar and they don’t make any big decisions, they don’t sign contracts, schedule surgeries and they don’t buy anything too expensive or technical when this planet is in reverse. That makes sense; errors are very frequent at this time.
I have to stress two important things though. First, there are many people born with Mercury retrograde and their neurological and brain processes are normal. These people have special way of approaching things. It might happen that they can see some things in a different light and possibly have extra talents and ways to communicate what the rest of us struggle with. During Mercury retrograde time they might sense an extra boost of mental energy and use this period as potentially very fruitful.
On the other hand, planet going direct is only a starting point for this celestial body to revisit many degrees of the Zodiac that it’s already passed by when it was going “backwards”. Therefore, this period is called planetary “shadow” period. It will manifest in a way so that we find out about outcomes and effects of everything we were working on during previous three weeks or so. Some important truths might get revealed after Mercury is completely out of shadow, which in our case is August 22nd.
Planet of love and affection Venus is changing signs and everyone will probably notice this shift from a loving desire to travel, read, write, chit-chat and talk about everyone and everything towards a desire to stay at home in the evening, to snuggle with someone and to enjoy personal time at home, cuddling and eating homemade desserts. Venus in Cancer is extremely sensitive, giving and gentle, so this week has a potential to make us more open and responsive to her tender vibrations. However, Venus is going to encounter two intense energies during the third week of August: opposition with Pluto in Capricorn and square Uranus in Aries; while Mars is meeting Saturn in Libra. Some relationships will experience endings.
Love is in the air, but it is going to be hard to express the best side of it now because of the outer obstacles: society regulations, business obligations, jealousy and extreme need for personal freedom. Let’s face it: Betty Crocker housewives symbolized by Venus in Cancer are so last century. Instead of snuggling under a duvet and watching an old black and white movie while eating homemade rice pudding with someone who will later on get on your nerves anyway, you might find yourself snuggling in front of a TV by yourself which in the end is not so bad. Uranus in Aries sends us a message: Personal freedom is above all! No more adjustments!
Click the “buy now” button on your pay-per-view channel and order anything but “Titanic”. The pastry shop down the street makes awesome chocolate and peanut butter cookies. They do deliveries as well. Venus in Cancer is no longer staying at home cooking – she also deserves to be pampered herself instead of pleasing everyone else, keep that in mind this month.
