Virgo Calls A Time Out (0)

2010 | Aug 23

By Matthew Currie

This month's Full Moon is an interesting one, and one well worth taking a few minutes to contemplate. Any Full Moon serves to amplify and heighten the prevailing emotional tone, but (in my personal experience -- you won't find this in any of the books) The Full Moon when the Sun is in Virgo is usually one of the most dramatic of the year when it comes to overall emotional tension. Any Sun-Moon opposition will do that, of course, but there's something about having the Sun in a sign noted for reason and logic versus the Moon in heavy-on-the-emotions Pisces that has a particular twang to it.

With all the other emotion-pumping events going on in the Zodiac right now, this Full Moon could be a big mess. That Saturn-Pluto square is still ongoing, and Jupiter and Uranus are still opposite Saturn. Handled properly though it could lead to real breakthroughs in your personal life. So, let's all pretend to be Virgos and put on our thinking caps... and pretend to be Pisces, and trust in the wisdom of the Universe... and see how we can turn this potential pest into a pet.

The only close major aspect the Full Moon performs is to Pluto: the Sun trines it, the Moon sextiles it. All the other planets I mentioned are either quincunx or semisextile to the Sun/Moon combo, and those aspects are kind of funky to work with: they send out invitations, but give no direction as to where the party should actually be, so to speak.

But, Pluto? Pluto has a briefcase full of blasting caps, and is just waiting to be pointed towards where the demolition site is. This is an astrology dating site, however. The only thing we want to blow up is your loneliness. Left to its own devices, Pluto could wander off and go blow up whatever it thinks will make the biggest mess, as opposed to removing that run-down eyesore across the street that's been vexing you for ages.

So, make the effort: set aside a few minutes on Tuesday... particularly if you can around 1:05 AM Wednesday (10:05 PM PST Tuesday evening) to sit down and really think things through about where you want the next month of your life to go. And don't be afraid to reach out to the Universe in whatever form your spirituality takes. When Brains and Faith decided on a project together, they usually get results. Left unsupervised, the mayhem tends to break out wherever it wants to... and you don't want that.

And let's be honest: couldn't your life use a few more positive, self-directed results lately?
