What is Astrology?

There are twelve signs of the Zodiac:

  1. Aries -The Ram. This fire sign is ruled by Mars the feisty God of War!
  2. Taurus an earth sign ruled by Venus the Sensual Goddess of Beauty.
  3. Gemini an Air sign ruled by Mercury the busy God of Trade, Profit and Travel)
  4. Cancer a water sign ruled by the Moon the Mother of us all.
  5. Leo a Fire sign ruled by the Sun the Father of us all.
  6. Virgo an earth sign ruled by Mercury the busy God of Trade, Profit and Travel. 
  7. Libra an Air sign ruled by Venus the Sensual Goddess of Beauty.
  8. Scorpio a Water sign ruled by Pluto the God of the Underworld.
  9. Sagittarius a Fire sign ruled by Jupiter the Head Honcho of all the Gods 
  10. Capricorn an earth sign ruled by Saturn which represents both structure and limitations
  11. Aquarius an Air sign ruled by Uranus which represents both structure and limitations
  12. Pisces a water sign ruled by Neptune God of the Sea. 

Each sign in the zodiac is grouped into one of the planet's four elements; Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Typically, you are most compatible with someone who shares your element, but elements can also pair well.

Always remember however that your Natal chart includes a LOT more than just your Sun sign. Just because He may be an Aries and you, a Cancer does not mean that you are incompatible. The other factors in your chart may mean you could have a long and happy relationship. Or a short happy one. Whichever you prefer ;-)

For example, Earth is compatible with water and Fire is compatible with Air. Remember that because there are 8 planets plus the Sun and Moon and many other aspects to consider even if your sun signs aren't a traditional match doesn't mean your love might not defy the odds!
